Map

Hotel Europa Signa is a 4 star hotel situated next to the train station of a town called Signa just outside of Florence in a westerly direction in the heart of Tuscany.  Trains run from the Signa train station to the main station of Florence – Santa Maria Novella – every 30 minutes with a journey time of just 20 minutes.

Guests therefore have the advantage of having easy access to all that Florence offers, but with the ability to retreat to the peaceful and beautiful Tuscan countryside in the evening.  Guests are therefore only 20 minutes from sights such as:

  • The magnificent cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, or The Duomo as it is better known
  • The Uffizi Gallery
  • Ponte Vecchio
  • The Medici Chapel
  • Piazza della Signoria
  • Museums, galleries and fantastic renaissance art and architecture

Close to Florence

Of course, the Hotel Europa Signa can not only offer access to Florence, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but due to the proximity of the train station and the rail network, guests also can take a direct train to Pisa to see its sights – most notably the Leaning Tower of Pisa – or indeed travel to Siena – both in less than a couple of hours!

The hotel also offers panoramic views of the Tuscan countryside and for those who wish to explore this idyllic paradise, our hotel is also near to the Renai Park which is home to a cycling path that reaches Florence’s Cascine Park along the banks of the River Arno.

The park also allows all manner of sports to be played there including horse riding, wind surfing, football, walking, jogging and cycling.  In fact one of the best ways to explore the surrounding countryside is by bike and the regional trains are also equipped to carry bikes for those of you who bite off more than you can chew and aren’t able to make it back!! For the golf enthusiasts amongst you, there is also the chance to play golf at the nearby golf course.

Tuscan Country

In addition to the outstanding beauty of cities like Florence, Pisa and Siena, not to mention the breath-taking Tuscan countryside, there are also small lesser well-known towns for guests to visit from the Hotel Europa Signa.

For example, the town of Prato is a small but historic place with a Pretorian palace and an important centre for contemporary art most visible at the Pecci Museum, or the Textile Museum that records and presents the regions important textile trade since medieval days.  Fantastic hill top towns like San Gimignano and Volterra (made famous in the Twilight books and films) are also charming medieval cities with superlative panoramic views.

So, if you are looking for a place to relax, or a place to partake in sporting activities, or a place to enjoy charming medieval Italian towns, or a place to visit the large tourist attractions of Florence, Pisa and Siena, all are possible from the Hotel Europa Signa.
